Golden Telecom Selects ECI Telecom to Provide Its Metro DWDM/ROADM Network

The state-of-the-art platform will provide Golden Telecom with added flexibility to scale its network, responding to increasing market demand for high-bandwidth services
ECI Telecom, a global provider of networking infrastructure solutions, announced that Golden Telecom, Inc. (Golden Telecom), part of the VimpelCom Group, has selected its XDM® All-Range(TM) ROADM (Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer) and Multi-Service Transport Platform (MSTP) to expand its network capacity in and around the city of Moscow. Golden Telecom is a leading facilities-based provider of integrated telecommunications and Internet services in major population centers throughout Russia and other countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States ("CIS").Golden Telecom will deploy ECI's DWDM solution with class-leading 10-degree WSS ROADM in major sites across the Moscow Transport Network, allowing for forecast-tolerant and easy and quick provisioning of services. The deployment of ECI's XDM All-Range solution will allow for reduction in OPEX (operating expenses) stemming from improved provisioning cycles, and CAPEX (capital expenditure) savings generated by the platform's capabilities for cost effective deployment of the carrier's region-wide fiber network built.
ECI's LightSoft® network manager will provide simplified management of all networks layers - SDH, data and the optical layer - enabling end-to-end provisioning under a single, unified management platform. With its unified graphical user interface, LightSoft improves efficiency by providing users with a clear picture of the optical channels and available resources.
