New Sidekick touts personalized mobile experience
Five months after acquiring mobile device maker Danger, Microsoft announced its first updated edition of the unit's signature Sidekick device--dubbed the T-Mobile Sidekick, the product promises a more personalized user experience including support for video capture, playback and sharing, as well as wireless stereo music and media sharing via Bluetooth, friend search and optimized group chats in IM.
Customizable web browsing enables users to view pages vertically a la previous models or "pan and scan" pages as on a PC. In addition, the new Sidekick's shell is customizable: Each will ship with black and metallic green shells, with a number of pre-designed shell patterns and colors also available at T-Mobile retail stores or online. Subscribers may also design their own unique shells on the web and share their work in a public gallery that will be hosted on the Sidekick site. The new Sidekick is available now from T-Mobile USA.
