Sterlite Technologies sets the quality standard for Optical Fiber & Cable products in India

Sterlite is the 1st Company in India & the 6th Company in the world to receive this certification for both, Optical Fiber & Fiber Optic Cables.

Sterlite Technologies announced that its Optical Fiber & Fiber Optic Cables facilities in India have been audited and certified as per the TL 9000 Quality Management System.

Says KS Rao, COO (Telecom) - Sterlite Technologies Limited, "With the exponential increase in our global customer footprint, we believe that a consistent set of quality expectations is needed to drive efficiency and performance across the telecommunications supply chain. We believe this certification would provide Sterlite the unique opportunity to cater to specific needs of our existing global & Indian customers and help us further enhance our customer base."

Since the past two decades, Sterlite has been a key industry forerunner in providing connectivity solutions to the Indian and global telecommunications industry. With more bandwidth intensive applications becoming popular, Sterlite introduced several innovative solutions like Bend Insensitive Optical Fiber, Ribbon & Microduct Fiber Optic Cables, which have enabled propagation of optical fiber into India's metro-access network. Over 30% of fiber optic cables installed in India operate with Sterlite Optical Fiber.

In recognition of Sterlite's sustained contribution to the Indian telecommunications industry, the Company received the 'V&D100 2008' award for Top Telecom Cables Company in India.
