Leading Experts Discuss Differing Perspectives on Profitability of Triple Play at IEC 2005 Broadband World Forum Europe

04 октября 2005
The International Engineering Consortium (IEC) hosts an exclusive Hot Seat Session, «Delivering Triple-Play Services: will it Be a Profitable Business?» granting information professionals a chance to examine this key application at Broadband World Forum Europe 2005 in Madrid, 3-6 October.

Debating the market imperatives, challenges, and economic impacts of delivering profitable triple-play services, this Hot Seat Session will critically analyze various views on whether or not triple play will be profitable business.

«During this Hot Seat Session, industry professionals can gain invaluable insights into the market drivers and opportunities for triple play and hear firsthand accounts from leading players in the market», – said Robert Piconi, panelist and vice president and general manager of broadband solutions for Lucent Technologies.

The session also grants an exceptional opportunity for key information experts to share differing views and receive contrasting feedback. Through this Q&A, attendees will decide for themselves triple play’s expected return on investment, expected increase in ARPU, net effect on margins, and reduction of churn.

As telecommunications companies begin to spend billions of dollars investing in triple play, some have questioned whether the new deployment is truly worth it. This Hot Seat Session answers the question for most professionals wondering who is right and why.

Panelist and Windsor Oaks Group Principal Analyst and Director of Research Teresa Mastrangelo commented, «Audience members will receive an opportunity to get an unscripted, untainted view of a particular topic. They will receive honest answers to challenging questions on the spot».

The IEC’s Broadband World Forum Europe, unparallel to any other communications event, expects to host more than 90 exhibitors, more than 4 000 attendees, and present more than 40 sessions over four days at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid. The two-day WiMAX Global ComForum also takes place at the event, addressing technology and business challenges associated with WiMAX wireless broadband networks.

Encouraging professionals to learn and share information, both events fulfill the IEC’s commitment to catalyzing positive change in technology, business and academia.
