ECI's Broadband Solution Powers First European Telecom Network For High-Definition TV

10 марта 2006
ECI Telecom announced that its broadband solution is being deployed in the first commercial VDSL2 network in Europe. This deployment, by one of the largest carriers worldwide, will enable millions of households to receive advanced IPTV services, including multi-channel High Definition TV (HDTV) over telephone lines. Multimedia Research Group recently ranked ECI as the top vendor for the number of IPTV Subscribers supported in Europe.

The broadband VDSL2 solution provides subscribers with industry-leading bandwidth of up to 100Mbit/s for triple play services. Carriers deploying ECI's VDSL2 solution can now benefit from higher customer retention, high-level personalization and increased ARPU deriving from the advanced, bandwidth-intensive services they are now able to deliver to their customers.

The deployment uses ECI's Hi-FOCuS(TM) Multi-Service Access Gateway platform and Hi-FOCuS MiniShelf(TM) Remote Terminals that will be situated in street cabinets and Central Offices. ECI's Hi-FOCuS portfolio offers a variety of platforms for different deployment scenarios and supports all xDSL technologies.

"This is the most advanced project of its kind in the telecom world today," said Danny Eisner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of ECI Telecom's Broadband Access Division. "This deployment is a further addition to ECI's extensive list of large-scale IPTV deployments and strengthens its leadership position in this growing market."
