U.S. carriers pull RAZR after glitch found

22 марта 2006
T-Mobile USA and Cingular Wireless have suspended sales of Motorola's wildly popular RAZR handset because of a bug that causes some of the models to drop calls. Motorola cautioned that the bug has effected only a small portion of RAZR handsets and only those that run on GSM networks. The phones reportedly disconnect calls, power down and restart themselves. The company, however, did not state which part of the phone is responsible for the glitch or which specific RAZR models have been effected. Customers with effected phones can exchange them.

Availability will be back to normal by the end of the week, once Motorola goes through inventory supplies and identifies which systems to recall. The company does not expect the hiccup to have «any impact on financial results.»
