Teltronic at the official inauguration of the new TETRA system for VAG Nurnberg

T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, has purchased Spanish technology through Teltronic’s TETRA equipment for the Nurnberg underground communications system.

Teltronic attended the official inauguration organised by T-Systems together with VAG Nurnberg, a German transport company.

Zaragoza, May 2006. T-Systems, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, has purchased Teltronic TETRA equipment to implement it in the new digital communication system for Nurnberg / Furth underground.

In all, more than 32 kilometres of rail with 40 stations and a fleet of 116 trains provides service for more than 107 million passengers each year.

The old trains use analogue communication systems and there is a two-year plan to migrate to the new TETRA digital system.

Teltronic participates in the project by supplying T-Systems Business Services GmbH with the onboard communications racks for all the trains. The Teltronic rack has a high degree of development in agreement with the customer’s requirements and specifications. It also contains the Teltronic TETRA MDT-400 mobile radio, among other modules.

For the start up this system, T-Systems, together with the German public transport company, VAG Nurnberg, organised an official opening last 23rd of February, which Teltronic, as a vital part of the project, could not miss.

The event was attended by local representatives as well as potential users of this kind of communication platform. With this contract, Teltronic consolidates its position as a leader in the supply of TETRA equipment developed for the passenger transport sector. There are now many references of customers all over the world who use Teltronic’s TETRA technology within this sector.
