Intel

18 января 2007
At the CES show earlier last year, Intel predicted the rise of the entertainment PC, with its Viiv technology powering a PC at the epicenter of the digital livingroom. Well, it's time for holiday shopping and no one is talking about Viivs. Intel and its PC partners are selling a bunch of Viiv-equipped PCs, but it doesn't look like the Viiv-factor is really coming into play. According to a report from News.com Intel insiders admit that Viiv has fallen short of expectations, despite the fact that content deals are just now beginning to roll in: like the recent one with NBC. So is this the end of the entertainment PC vision, the slow demise of Viiv or just a signal of slower market uptake than the bullish Intel expected?
