Analyst: 3G is Qualcomm's game

13 июля 2007
According to American Technology Research, despite Qualcomm's ongoing dispute with Nokia, it is uniquely positioned to capitalized on the 3G build-out. W-CDMA will replace two-thirds of GSM wireless networks during the next three years, which means big bucks for Qualcomm. The number of W-CDMA handsets sold stood at 50 million in 2005, 100 million in 2006 and should climb to about 175 million sold during this year. Assuming Qualcomm's traditional CDMA business continues to prosper, Motorola looks to Qualcomm for W-CDMA and China capitalizes on the W-CDMA trend: Qualcomm's earning and other financial metrics should increase significantly.
