Korea's top-tier IT daily recognized reliability and scalability of company's Mobile TV solution

27 июля 2007

Irdeto Mobile Broadcast Conditional Access (CA) solution has been named one of the "best products of the first half of 2007" by The Electronic Times, the major Korean information technology newspaper tracks sales volumes and market shares across the IT sector to select hit products every six months.

Winning products were selected among models that were launched either in home or overseas markets in the first half of 2007 or continued enjoying popularity following the previous six-month period. As part of the selection criteria, high scores are given for technological features, quality, marketing, design and service capabilities. Design and convergence are also key factors in the evaluation of consumer IT and digital products, while enterprise infrastructure products are evaluated for productivity and innovation. In the CAS category, Irdeto ranked highest in reliability and scalability, essential components for security solutions.

"Irdeto has been leading efforts to satisfy customers' needs with advanced digital content security technologies, and we are proud to be recognized by The Electronic Times, one of Korea's leading IT newspapers, as the proven leader in the mobile CA market," said Brendon Woo, Country Manager of Irdeto Korea. "Irdeto will continue to be a key innovator and deliver proven digital TV, IPTV and mobile security solutions to its customers worldwide."

"Irdeto signed the world's first mobile CA contract with SK Telecom in Korea in 2003 to provide its Irdeto Mobile Broadcast CA solution to TU Media, a mobile service subsidiary of the wireless operator and also the world's first and most successful satellite DMB operator. As of June 2007, more than 3 million units of Irdeto's security product were provided to manufacturers making handsets for TU Media's mobile TV services. Irdeto has also teamed up with world-renowned handset companies including Samsung, LG, and Motorola to co-develop and support mobile TV solutions for customers across the world. Irdeto is the only company in the world to have live deployments at Satellite DMB, Terrestrial DMB and DVB-H operators on three continents, and supports a wide variety of mobile TV security standards.
