TeliaSonera’s entire 3G network upgraded to HSPA
Finnish telco TeliaSonera has announced that it has completed the upgrade of its 3G network to HSPA technology, giving it 3.5G coverage of 60% of the population. ‘The demand for high-speed data transmission services is constantly on the increase. Now that the whole network has been upgraded, most people in Finland have access to mobile broadband and can use the services it enables,’ said
Pasi Mehtonen of TeliaSonera Mobility Services Finland. The Sonera Data Power package, which gives access to the HSPA network, may be ordered as a supplementary service of the subscription’s data transmission service. For a 1Mbps service, the extra charge is EUR7.90 a month, while a 2Mbps service costs EUR19.90.
