Thrane & Thrane Strain, Subsidiary Sayonara

Last October, Thrane & Thrane A/S acquired the Norwegian company Nera SatCom AS. This included Nera Satcom’s wholly owned German subsidiary and Hamburg-based European Satellite Link GmbH (ESL). Now it appears as though Thrane & Thrane have examined their company strategy as they move forward and no longer believe ESL fits into the profitability picture. Therefore, integration of ESL is no longer viable.

Negotiations with several interested parties commenced to investigate the level of ESL acquisition interest. After a number of talks, the company ESL Holding Aps, represented by two former Thrane & Thrane employees, will acquire the firm. The acquiring parties are Nikolaj Hvegholm, Director of Partner Communication & Marketing, and Henrik Christensen, Director of Market Management. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of this month. As the acquired company is a Certified Partner, ESL will continue to purchase product, services and support from Thrane & Thrane.

This divestment does not alter Thrane & Thrane’s financial outlook for 2007/08. Revenues of around DKK 1,350 million and an operating margin of about 15 percent are still expected.
