Qualcomm pays $1.8M over Flarion flap
Qualcomm says that it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice to resolve allegations that Qualcomm started making decisions at Flarion before it had officially acquired the company. The two companies had an agreement that Qualcomm would have to give its consent to enter into certain types of agreements, but the DOJ said that gave Qualcomm an inappropriate level of control over the company before the merger was closed. Qualcomm said it wants to put the matter behind it, agreeing to pay $1.8 million to the DOJ without admitting any wrongdoing.
