23 октября 2006
ECI Telecom announced that it has signed a contract with Atlas Telecom Romania to expand their broadband network. This three-year contract will provide Atlas Telecom Romania with the ability to cost-effectively offer triple play and IPTV services. ECI will provide its Hi-FOCuS(TM)5 IP DSLAM platform to support Atlas Telecom's applications to both residential and business subscribers. ECI's ADSL2+ based equipment will be co-located in the central offices of the incumbent operator in Romania, to support residential services. ECI's outside plant solution will be installed within Atlas Telecom's own street cabinets, using VDSL2 line cards, to support business subscribers. In addition, ECI will supply a wide selection of customer premise equipment, to support all applications required by Atlas and its subscribers.

"We chose ECI as our primary Broadband supplier because their cost-effective solutions met our needs for expanding our high-bandwidth broadband services,” said Mr. Pompiliu Tripa, President and CEO of Atlas Telecom Romania. "ECI's flexibility, responsiveness and complete set of platforms were key as we could identify the appropriate solutions for our diverse needs.”
