CTIA lauds cell phone tax moratorium bill
One of the first bills introduced by the 110th Congress was the Cell Phone Tax Moratorium Act of 2007, which aims to reduce the taxes on wireless services. CTIA's president and CEO Steve Largent said 14 percent of the average wireless user's bill can be attributed to taxes and fees. Largent said: "This is an indefensible level of taxation for most any product, let alone one that allows more than 225 million Americans to constantly stay connected and in-touch with the world around them."
