Telekom Malaysia to spin off mobile units

Telekom Malaysia, the country’s dominant phone company, plans to spin off its mobile businesses to help unlock the value of its fastest-growing operations. The news confirms a Reuters report that Telekom’s board agreed on Thursday to house domestic and offshore mobile assets in one company, TM International, whose shares would be distributed to existing group shareholders and then separately listed.

Bouygues enters French consumer fixed-line market

French mobile operator Bouygues Telecom will take over a ready-made DSL network as of June next year, thanks to an unusual wholesale deal with Neuf Cegetel. France's second largest fixed operator, will cede full control to Bouygues of DSL network elements in 626 exchanges in France. Neither company revealed financial details of the deal.

Экспансию "Комстара" рассмотрят в ФАС

Как пишет газета «КоммерсантЪ», оператор "Комстар-ОТС" достиг принципиальной договоренности о покупке крупнейшего в России регионального альтернативного оператора - компании ЦТС в Ростове-на-Дону. Вчера Федеральная антимонопольная служба (ФАС) сообщила, что рассматривает ходатайство об одобрении сделки, сумма которой может составить более $50 млн.

Американский производитель персональных компьютеров Gateway представил настольный ПК на базе ОС Windows, который внешне является практически полной копией Apple iMac, а в чем-то выглядит даже лучше его. Продажи новинки планируется начать в октябре 2007 г. по цене от $1,3 тыс.
